I walked about 10 miles at work today and then ran 12 miles afterwards. I am tired.
While I was running, sunblock-laced sweat started leaking into my eyes. It burned so badly. Closing my eyes was the only thing I could figure out that made it better. So I started running with my eyes closed for 10 seconds at a time. One time, the last time, I veered right and off the trail. I fell down but it wasn’t too bad. Just a little road rash on my left hand. That’s probably the last time I try to run without eyesight.
12 miles, 10:35 pace.
Can’t find the signature on this one so I don’t know whose it is. Tight though.
I usually don’t run on Monday but it made sense to do so today. We’re getting some big storms here so it’s a little cooler with all the wind and cloud cover. Pretty nice run. Had fun. Left quad still a little funky but it goes away when I run or walk. I only really feel it upon standing after sitting a while.
10 miles, 10:15 pace.
I’m running when I can right now.
The Pinellas Trail Challenge is a little over a month away. I’d like to get in a 50 mile weekend before then. If I’m able to do that I should be just fine.
Hopefully, I’ll be busy with work soon.
13.5 miles, 11:50 pace.
2 more days of training in Sarasota. Then, more training. For work, not running. So tired. But getting it done. Saw some old friends tonight.
10 miles, 10:30 pace.
I think I’m ready for the weekend.
6 miles, 9 minute pace.
Nice and easy. Got rained on and it felt great. Heart rate was low and steady.
Every day, the clouds look like this.
I didn’t run on Sunday so there was no entry that day. I didn’t try to make it up yesterday because it doesn’t work that way really. It’s not a big deal. An extra day of rest was probably just as good for me.
I’m still in training for work so my schedule is in flux. Just trying to be normal.
12 miles, 11:50 pace.
I had a really good run, punctuated by the loss of one of my AirPods. I’m not unaffected by its loss, but it could be worse. It’s just a thing. A tiny, expensive little thing.
I ran very slowly to start, just aiming for 12 minute miles. I was able to manage that pace the whole way.
Now I’ll sleep like griffman.
22 miles, 11:55 pace.
Long day. Delivering mail is hard work. I actually walked further than I ran today. And sweat. So much sweat.
8 miles, 9:30 pace
I think I’m good on sunscreen for a while.
Today was slurpee day but we got there in the slurpee evening so we had to pay.
I get to sleep a little later tomorrow and I need it.
I think I’m running too hard right now. I get home from work and want to finish quickly so I can be with Dana. I need to back off, slow down. Left quad a little sore.
6 miles, 8:10 pace.
Day 2 of orientation is over. Tomorrow is the Defensive Driving Course. It’s all one endless PowerPoint presentation. Feels good to be learning new things. Feels good to have momentum.
12 miles, 10:40 pace.
